From Soil to Soul
What started as a quiet dream for our family has become a place where others come to pause, reconnect, and breathe deep. This is the story of how Serene Ravine came to be.

A Place Born from Purpose
Serene Ravine wasn’t built as a business. It was imagined as a way of living. In 2003, Shekhar Tulpule found a piece of land that spoke to him - a patch of forest near Dapoli, alive with the sounds of birds and flowing water. Over the next nine years, he nurtured it into what you see today, planting 53 species of indigenous plants native to the region and shaping spaces that would always feel part of the land, not apart from it.
Shekhar and his wife Kalyani dreamed of a place where their family could stay deeply connected to nature — where their son could climb trees, plant rice, and chase butterflies, not watch screens. What began as a personal retreat slowly blossomed into something more.
Friends visited. Then friends of friends. And every guest who came here felt the same thing: a calm they hadn’t felt in years. That’s when the couple knew they had to open their home to others who longed for stillness, too.

Nature as the Heartbeat
Serene Ravine sits quietly in the forests of Dapoli, surrounded by green hills, a flowing river, and even a tucked-away waterfall within the property. But it’s not just the location that makes it special — it’s the intention behind every inch.
Every room is designed with care. Every meal is grown or sourced with honesty. And every guest is welcomed like family.
“We didn’t want to build a resort. We wanted to build a rhythm.”
– Shekhar & Kalyani
Seasons at Serene Ravine
Every season in Dapoli paints a different story. At Serene Ravine, we celebrate each with food, experiences, and the rhythm of nature.
From Forest Trails to River Tales

This isn’t a luxury hotel. It’s not a weekend checklist.
It’s a quiet return to simplicity, to stillness, to soil.
You won’t find televisions.
But you will find books, barefoot trails, and a river that sings.
You won’t find room service.
But your meals will be grown, cooked, and served with care.
You won’t find a front desk.
But you will be greeted like family by name, not booking ID.
